Aerial view. We are in the future, on Earth. Due to climate change, the water has evaporated, and the planet now resembles Mars. We are flying very high over a desert that was once the Atlantic Ocean, now a vast basin of sand and rocky outcrops stretching as far as the eye can see. A few large, very old commercial ships and other vessels lie stranded in the sand, almost completely buried by it. Just beside us, the bust of New York’s Statue of Liberty emerges from a sand dune. In the distance, the remains of Manhattan’s many skyscrapers can be seen, completely overtaken by the sand and in ruins. The sun is not visible as it rises behind us, while the moon sets ahead, sinking behind the ruined skyscrapers far off. The sky is painted with beautiful orange and blue hues, like at dawn, with the moon still visible in the sky
