Outsider art. A surreal and deconstructed mixed- media collage in the style of Jacques Prévert with an urgent sense of chaos and energy. An analogue collage artwork blending fragmented styles, layers and textures. The main image is a punk stencil photocopy print of a magazine image of a cigarette packet and ashtray. Print errors, halftone dots. grungy print registration errors. Layered over this obscuring the image are multiple fragmented and overlapping layers of chaotic thick paint, splatters of paint, palette knife oil paint, handwritten scrawled text messages, torn photographs and broken distorted vintage photographs filling the canvas. Layered sections of repetitive brightly coloured dots are spraypainted in Yayoi Kusama style. Fragmented skulls and abstract faces in Jean- Michel Basquiat style over the top. This hides sections of the image below. Outlines are roughly redrawn in black ink and thick oil paint. On the top layer are rough hand- drawn letters and love hearts scrawled heavy- handedly in blue biro on to print. The overall effect is manic and anarchic with an urgent sense of energy
